Champion Gear:

Champions are customized in a variety of ways. Some customizations are cosmetic, while others provide the champion bonuses while in the arena. Champion customization comes in 6 forms: Weapons, Skins, Emotes, Badges, Training Routines, and Team Logos. Weapons, Skins, and Emotes are customizable features built unique and specifically for each champion. Badges, Training Routines, and Team Logos are interchangeable between different champions.

Weapons:

Weapons provide a champion with bonuses to their Primary Stats and either boosts to a Skill, or a separate benefit (often modifying respawn). Each Weapon has its own Level and experience. A Weapon’s bonuses increased as the Weapon increases in level. A Weapon earns experience whenever the champion plays a match with that Weapon equipped. Each weapon has a maximum level of 3. Weapon Experience is matched (not split) to the amount received towards the Coach Level. If a Coach has reached Max Level, they will still be awarded Experience for any Weapon equipped.

Weapon Level Experience Required
1 0
2 2000
3 6000

Weapons can be purchased in the Shop with both Clobber Coins and Smashbucks. For a complete list of Weapons, see the Weapons List.

Skins:

Skins are new models and textures that change the appearance of a Champion. These changes are purely cosmetic and will not affect how a champion fights in combat. Skins can be purchased from the Shop with Smashbucks. For a complete list of Skins, see the Skins List.

Emotes:

Emotes are special animations that a Champion can use to taunt their opponents. Each Champion equips a single emote when they enter a match. This Emote is played at the beginning and end of each match. Additionally, Emotes can be played by pressing the “T” key (see Controls). Emotes can be purchased and previewed from the Shop with Smashbucks. For a complete list of Emotes, see the Emotes List.

Badges:

Badges are special Coach Gear that can be used to modify a champion that wears them. Each Badge provides a different set of effects that will boost a Champion’s effectiveness in combat, or allow the champion to come up with new and interesting strategies and builds. Badges are equipped on a Champion in the Game Lobby before they enter a match. Each Badge has a Coach Level requirement. This means that only a Coach of the required level can equip and use the Badge on his Champions. You can purchase Badges from the Shop with both Clobber Coins and Smashbucks. For a complete list of Badges, see the Badges List.

Training Routines:

Training Routines are special sets of ability boosters that improve a champion’s Secondary Stats when they enter a match. Training Routines are made up of a group of Workouts. Each Workout individually provides a small bonus to a Secondary Stat. A Training Routine consists of fifteen sockets that players can fill with Workouts o create and customize their complete bonuses. These fifteen sockets are divided into three categories (Strength, Endurance, Star Power) containing five slots each. When a player begins at level 1, all the sockets are inert and do not allow him to assign Workouts to them. As the player’s Coaching Level increases (by playing games), the sockets will open up and allow the player to fill more sockets with Workouts.

Players can customize their Training Routines from the Manage Team Menu. Players can create several different Training Routines by assigning different combinations of Workouts. After the Workouts have been placed, players can save out a Training Routine for later use. During the Champion selection process in the Game Lobby, the player can determine which of his custom Training Routines (Workout configurations) he wishes to use in the match.

For a complete list of Workouts, see the Workouts List.

For more information on Training Routines, see the Training Routines section.

Team Logos:

Players can customize their Champions by applying a Team logo. A Team Logo is a unique set of images that will be applied to all of their champions. Each of these sections will correspond to specific sections of a Champion, their equipment, or both. Choosing a Team Logo will modify the look of the player’s Champions until changed to a different Logo. Players can preview and purchase Team Logos from the Shop for Smashbucks.
